15TB Samsung NVMe on ASRock Ultra Quad M.2 Card?

Is it possible to place 4 x Samsung PM983 NGSFF NVMe (15TB each) inside the ASRock Ultra Quad M.2 Card ??

Hi, welcome to the forum.

According to ASRock’s site the Quad M.2 Card supports 22mm wide cards, but does not mention cards the width of the PM983 (30.5mm). I would say the Quad M.2 card probably will not fit four PM983s because of the size constraints.

Sometimes referred to as M.3, this is not M.2, so no.

Should clarify, it uses the same socket as “regular” M.2, so electrically it would fit. Physically however I doubt it would, since they are almost a centimeter wider then regular M.2 drives.

On a sidenote: The NGSFF Version only comes with up to 3.84TB from what I can tell, only the U.2 Version up to 7.68TB. Where did you find 15 TB?

Found it, apparently it’s just not available anywhere here

Looking at images (this is the shroud):

There’s no way that’s 1cm between the slots.

Yeah, those SSDs won’t fit.

The 960 PRO is barely any wider than its connectors, whereas the PM983 NGSFF does stick out quite a bit.

Maybe you could convert M.2-> U.2 and then U.2->M.2? #crazyidea

That way spacing would be less of an issue, but I have no idea about:

  1. Your drives fitting the U.2 adapter.
  2. signal degradation.
