1000$ Small Form Factor Gaming PC

its what i would buy if i were in your shoes

Nope.

Hitachi HDDs fail quite often.  And anyway, where the heck is your PSU?

Nice job not reading anything! :D anyways, I think I made my own build, if you guys could check out:http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2pw8Q

Few notes:

I didn't go with the msi gaming z87i itx since from what I heard it wouldn't make too much of a difference with the asrock, which I think is pretty cool and is in the beta steam box.

I also went with the h90 since node 304 owners said they could fit one. I also did this so I could do a push pull with the fan the node came with.

Lastly, the graphics card I put as the r9 280x toxic for now since the r9 290 non references didn't release yet and since the prices are changing too much off the retail price. I'm going to hold off this build until prices settle for the gpu.

Go with this Ram instead and then I think your set http://pcpartpicker.com/part/a-data-memory-ax3u1600w4g9dgv

If you look at builds in the node you can clearly see that you not be fitting a 310mm card if you want to keep a large power supply in the case. A power supply with a length of over 160mm reduces the graphics card space down to 170mm. But in order to get a graphics card in that is over 170mm you have to remove the hanging hdd cages. This will complicate your storage where to you can mount the one western digital blue drive that you have and then ghetto rig the ssd somewhere else. Do able but not optimal. But hey its not like the ssd has any moving parts to make it move around the case. P.S you may want to get a slightly shorter 280x, the toxic will have 2mm clearance in the node and will probably have restricted air flow.

Yes, the 770 will fit.

lol i know the windforce will fit XD not sure if the r9 280x toxic will though, cause it's 2mm off the case max limit. Btw why should i change the ram? does it make that big of a difference? cause that's a steep 15 bucks more for just ram...

your build that you stated has these that i don't need: dvd, psu, hdd, and has only 2gb on that 770.

2 sticks of ram allows you to use dual channel memory, which means more bandwidth and faster ram

Isn't the speed of ram the 1333 1600 thingy?

Sure, it's the clock speed.

There's also other things to consider though, such as CAS latency, timings, and single/dual/triple/quad channel.  The LGA1150 supports dual channel, which can be up to 50% faster in normal applications than single channel.

1600mhz is all you need if you have a dedicated graphics card for RAM.

Also, the H90 is a "luck of the draw" type of deal.  Often, it'll push against the graphics card, and it really depends on how the holes are creates in the radiator and in the case.  If your card has a backplate, that pretty much ensures that the H90 won't fit.  That's how close the h90 fits.  Many people have reported that it works, but then again, many people have reported that it won't fit at all, and causes so much flex to the PCIe x16 slot that no signal is sent through the GPU.

hm... i was just thinking that i could do a push pull with the fan on the node 304 which seems pretty cool since it's also 140mm. if a graphics card with a backplate can't fit with a case that has a h90, than does that mean that it won't fit with the 140mm case fan on the node 304?

cough*

did you not say that you already had a psu?

just get this and end your search. please.

Thanks for posting a pic of my pc, ZacDaMan72!
