€1000 gaming/editing PC

Built a PC then found about Tek... I'm wondering if this is an okay build?

  • CPU: Intel Core i5 3570k - 3.4GHz processor
  • Motherboard: ASUS P8Z77-V LX - LGA1155 Socket
  • RAM: Corsair XMS3 memory - 8 GB : 2 x 4 GB
  • Case: Cougar Evolution
  • GPU: ASUS GTX660 Ti
  • PSU: Be quiet! Straight Power BQT E9-700W
  • Harddrive: Caviar Blue 500GB (I don't take up a lot of space)
  • Optical drive: LG GH24NS50 Super Multi - DVD RW

I'm planning on replacing the stock CPU cooler with a Hyper 212 Evo and adding a OCZ Vertex 4 120GB SSD.

Thoughts?

Yes actually you should replace the stock CPU cooler with a hyper 212 evo you can easily over clock the cpu to 4GHz. About the SSD your planning on adding, replace the OCZ Vertex 4 120GB with a A-Data SX900 128GB or the Kingston HyperX 3K 120GB

A Vertex 3 would probably actually be better too, but I'd have to look at some benchmarks. Also consider the Crucial M4 or Samsung 830. They both can keep up with the top of the line Sandforce drives, and they're known for better reliability.

I'm also not too sure about that PSU. I would get a more reputable brand like Corsair, Seasonic, Silverstone, Cooler Master, Enermax, or XFX.
