Initially I just wanted to upgrade my gpu, but since I have saved some Euros I decided to build a new system.
I knew a lot about hardware back in 2011 but I am overwhelmed by the amount of choices you have now.
So I need help:
As the title says I will mainly play games . I want to max out any current and upcoming games at 1080p (I actually want a build that can max out the upcoming The Witcher 3 )
I know that there is a video where Logan and Wendell explain that the power costs are very marginat but electricity is quite expensive in Germany (at least in my household) and I use the pc a lot since I use it for gaming and university (2-8 hours a day).
So my prefrences are Intel and Nvidia due to power consumption. But if you can recommend an amd system that is better at that price range go ahead. I want the most suitable option for my money.
Ps: I don't need water cooling and I don't plan to overclock either. And I want a red OR white case. I am fed up with (complete) black cases.
Option 1: http://de.pcpartpicker.com/p/2TZOA i5-4670 with R9-290
Option 2: http://de.pcpartpicker.com/p/2TZBN i5-4670 with GTX780.
Option 3: http://de.pcpartpicker.com/p/2TZFz i5-4670 with GTX770
Thease 3 options are realy nice. In therms of gaming performance option 1 would give you the best performance, the R9-290 will coffer your future. But for 1080P, option 3 would also be fine enough, with the GTX770.
i also made the second option with GTX780, just to show what you could do, but basicly, the R9-290 is the better performing card in most games, and its alot cheaper also.
I like this: http://de.pcpartpicker.com/p/2TZHd I'd recommend getting the R9 290 Mystery recommended in her option 1 but you said Nvidia, so I added a Gtx 780.
i upgraded my 290 build i found a cheaper R9-290 on alternate. Msi R9-290 Gaming OC for €399,- and its also in stock and its red/black lol, i guess Nvidia competition cannot beat that.
I'd go with that build but with this power supply http://de.pcpartpicker.com/part/fractal-design-power-supply-fdpsuts2w650w 80+ gold will help with energy costs. And also the intel ssd. its have the price of the 840 evo and has 80 more gb's, I don't get how you could sell it that cheap...
Thanks you guys, I think I will buy option 1 with with the msi r-290 and the psu that caveman recommended., if the 290 is better than the 780 for me, there is no need to stick to Nvidia. My only dilemma will be the colour.
Now as you have mentioned peripherals ,I would spend 150-200 € additionally for mouse and keyboard. Anything good there?
