Hi, I was looking at this drive and seller is saying it will only work on Linux and not Windows. I tried to Google that, but didn’t find anything…would anyone know why that would be the case and if so, anyway to make it work on Windows? The seller did not have any other info.

Hi, as I was posting the first message, this came up. Sounds like the solution might t be to boot up Linux and then format the drive? I’m not a Linux user…would someone know the commands to do this? Also commands to install the nvme tools that will be needed?

I’ve got two of the eight terabyte cd6r there’s no problem running them in Windows . you don’t have to do anything special I have no idea why the sellers telling you that.
My guess is that maybe it didnt work on older version of Windows. You can remove whatever is on the drive in Windows and create a new partiton and format it, so likely you dont need linux.
IMHO the seller aint right,.
