Zotac GTX550 ti clock speeds drop after 4 hours of use

If I used my video card for about 4 hours I notis that in game the frame rate will just drop from 60 fps to 5 and the temps are only abuot 50 C.

On MSI afterburner it says the clock speeds have droped alot and when I try to rase them nothing happens.

Help?

is your driver up to date? (NOT the CD from the box) if not, download and install the newest driver. or even try a beta driver, they sometimes work

How do I uninstall the old driver?

go into control panel -> programs and features -> look for anything NVIDIA or PhysX and uninstall those. Goto NVIDIA's website and download the newest driver.

OKay It said my drivers were the current ones so I don't think it's the drivers.

What else could be causeing this?

BTW I have a 500 WATT PSU.

What are your full PC specs? I might be able to better determine the problem then.

Intel i5 3.6 GHZ

Zotac GTX550 ti

1tb harddrive

windows 7 64bit

8gb ram

Unknown motherbored.

Also 500WATT Psu.

80PLUS.

Anyone?

If the card is still in warranty, I would RMA it. If not, try to sell it maybe and get a new one?

Yeah, sounds to me like you have a faulty card. I too have a 550ti (EVGA) and a 500 Watt PSU (Corsair) and mine works perfectly fine. I'd recommend sending it in.

Sorry for super old bumb but i fixed it.

It was just an unstable overclock. :P

that'll do it.
