As for Patriot, there aren't images yet but they are expecting much more impressive numbers. They are offering the drives in M.2 as well, but at significantly reduced speeds due to controller limitations.

Hopefully with a little competition for Intel, prices on NVMe / PCI-E drives will drastically reduce. At the very least we'll be seeing some variety. I personally have been waiting patiently with my Samsung 840 for PCI-E drives to become more mainstream, and it looks like 2016 could be the year for that.
