I've got some open hardware that I'm messing around with different configurations of zfs in Ubuntu 16.04 beta 2. System is i7 [email protected], 12gb 1600mhz ram, Gigabyte X58 mobo thats all I feel is relevant anyways. For disks I have a single 60gb OCZ Vertex 2 (old I know), 2 500gb 5400 rpm 2.5", 2 1tb 5400 rpm with 8gb cache 2.5", 4 500gb 7200 rpm 3.5". I only have 6 sata ports on this mobo and 1 is tied up running the OS (might change to live USB to open that port up) . I've been thinking of random configurations and testing the speeds out, along with some different compression configurations. Are there any configurations people have been curious about, but unable to test out? Feel free to let me know and i'll try to see what results I can get. I'm sharing as when I was just looking into zfs I would've enjoyed finding something like this. I've been posting the videos to YouTube. Also i'm not a pro or guru at all I just like to mess around with stuff.
Well I hope someone finds this useful!
