Zenfone 2 touchscreen problems?

I want to ask any zenfone 2 user in the tek community, have you ever had problems with the touchscreen of your phone?

My girlfriend wanted a phone that is cheap and good and I recommended her the zenfone 2(she got the 2gb quad core 1.8GHz version) and it suddenly went haywire after 3 weeks of having it(no dropping/used gorilla glass screen protector and a case that was pretty strong)

It just refuses to work on the upper portion and just works on some areas on the other 80% of the screen.

Normally I would just say just RMA it and they will fix it but after a quick google search I found out that MANY users had massive problems with the touch screen and even after RMA-ing it after some time the problem occurred again.

I get having some problems with the manufacturing process and some phones would suffer but it seems so frequent...

I really had faith in ASUS...but if you "repair" someone's phone and have it break a second and third time the same way sounds insane

Here is a link to one of their site where apparently hundreds of users have the same problem.

The only thing I've noticed is that it turns on by itself in my pocket. That's about it for me, and i've done a few small drops to it!

i have a zenfone 2 and ive never experienced any problems what so ever, its been a good so far

OK that gives me some hope then, thanks guys. I guess i will tell her to RMA it and hope it will get solved.

Mine does the same thing, only if the screen is facing my body, if I turn it around so the screen faces the outside of my pocket it doesnt do it

I know it is an old topic but wanted to clarify things if someone will ever have that problem...

I ended up Rma-ing it and they replaced the whole screen and touch assembly...it seems that it is quite a common problem.. i just hope this new one is a better one not just another easily self breaking one...works good until now though so it survived like 4-5 times more than the first one
