Hi everybody. I have been looking around for a case and I liked the look of the Zalman Z11 Plus and the price was just right and the case looked good for the price. I then came across the Z12 Plus by Zalman which also looked good for the price. The two are priced similaraly in GB.
I ask which one should I go for as I know quite a bit about the Z11 but not the Z12 and would like advice on which one to buy.
I had a z11 plus you can check out my profile to see it. It was a good case but I have now gone itx and have a fractal design node 304.
thanks. itx was an option but i have a fx8320 and there aren't many, if any, motherboards in itx
I believe ASUS is working on a itx am3+ mobo, but don't quote me on that. I think it is just a rumor at this point.
that may be a console beater hmmm...
I have the Z11 Plus. Personally I like the way it looks better than the Z12. It reminds me of a B2-Stealth or an evil transformer lol. It's a great case really, with plenty of room and 2 SSD mounts. The case also has great airflow and doesn't get hot. I used to have the Thermaltake Soprano 101, it was a nice case but it collected to much dust inside. I no longer have that problem with the Z11 plus. It also can support 4 120mm fans and comes with 2 80mm (I believe) fans on the side to dissipate heat from your hard drives. I highly recommend the case!!!
If you were wanting somewhat of a smaller build with am3+, they have come out with a version of the bitfenix prodigy that supports m-atx mobo's. I think it is about the same size as the previous prodigy, and personally I like the way it looks. Just throwing that out there.
I own a Z11 plus and I definately recommend it. One thing I can not stand when buying anything is wobbly/creaking parts and NO PART of this case wobbles/creaks/flexs at all and I love it. A solid built case and awesome aesthetics.
Yes! Avery solid build! The only thing I was afraid of was taking off the front cover. It's hard to take off and needed a lot of force/strength. I thought I broke something the first time it came off lol. But it's very durable and the front cover becomes easier to take off with each time to take it off.
