Z890 boards your opinions and bifurcation

Hi fam,

I’ve just started canvassing the landscape for a new build in hopes of cash coming in. Graduating from 11th gen to the core series. Has anyone come across any mid-tier (~$300 and less) mobos that support bifurcation. Preferably 4x4x4x4x, gen does not matter.

Use case would be to raid my solidgim nvmes that have shit tier performance on Linux and move my stuff elsewhere. Using RAID 5 or 10. BULK FLASH BABY.

I have limited to no understanding of cards with “redrivers”(?) that are reasonably affordable. But I know they exist however I dont know if they are applicable here.

I’m moving from an Aorus Master z690.

Depending how patient I can be, will look out for z790 boards on fire sale.

Also, share with me what you bought and why!

Do you need bifurcation when most of the boards support 4x NVMe without touching the x16 slot?
