My MSI motherboard recently died but luckily it still had its warranty so I was refunded about £115. I'm looking for a new motherboard but not sure whether to go z87 or spend a bit more and go with a new z97 board. I have a i5-4670K and a hyper 212 evo so I'm looking to overclock (no H87 or H97).
Z87 or Z97?
Well the Z97 is a newer platform and will be comparable with Broad well when that comes out. Z87 isn't.
That being said there isn't much difference between the two platforms. If the Z97 isn't significantly more expensive then get it but if its a lot more Z87 will be fine.
