Z87 dangerous voltage on cold boot with Devils Canyon

Yo,

I recently got my hands on a i5 4690k and a Z87 motherboard for cheap. However, I've been told that Z87 motherboards are known to dangerously ramp voltage. I have a overheating issue every time from cold boot and It seems that my motherboard ramps the voltage of my CPU to 1.992-2.004v... but after a couple of BSODs and restarts the voltage goes back to normal and boots properly'at my set voltage 1.268v. Is there any fix for this outrageous rampage of voltage that only happens on cold boot?

Cheers

This could happen indeed.
But i have not realy heard about this happened very often.
I have only heard about this once with a Gigabyte Z87 board.
Make sure you update the bios to the latest version anyway.

It's updated to the latest BIOS, ill reflash & load optimized settings again just in case and I'll report back.

Cheers
