I'm tasked with upgrading the editing rigs in my school about a $700 budget for each (there are 7)
we use CS6 so nothing from AMD
we're keep the current monitors-
I've got the rest of the guts picked out
this leaves me with about $250 left to splurge on Nvidia
I'm looking at the 650ti boost or possibly the 660(non-ti)
my requirements
has to have 2 DVI-I (4 extra pins on the left) ports // OR // come with HDMI/displayport adapters to VGA
in the price range
orderable from newegg
dual monitor support (shouldn't be an issue)
in all- it has to support 2 vga-only monitors out of the box
Find me something that fits this criteria
For that budget, you could easily get an EVGA 660 2GB , or if you want to go used, get an EVGA 660ti 2GB .

lol 660 dosent come with D-SUB VGA!! you get one dvi to vga adapter in the box you then need to find a dvi -to vga adapter (there like 3bucks!)
VGA is as historical as that stupid facepalm
out of the box meaning... that they bundle a working hdmi or displayport adapter to vga.
only DVI-I will convert to vga dual/single link doesn matter.
Every video card has a dvi -to vga adapter in them if it dosent have a D-sub connector (even top end cards lol but if anyone uses one on a $400 card thay need shooting)

Honestly the bigger question here is why on earth you're even using VGA.
i use VGA on my 670 FTW... On my second Monitor
Does no one understand that this is a task for the school?
District policy states that if it still works, we still use it. these monitors still work so there is "no reason to upgrade" the only hoop for me to jump through is that they happen to be vga only.
If you can find a $250 card that has 2 DVI-I's we willuse 2 of those adapters (we have a box of 'em)
we're not buying highend 670, so the search is limited.
i allready posted a $200 660 above with x2 dvi its $210 on newegg

Do you understand the differences between the 5 types of DVI?
Please stare at this for a while.
Only DVI-I (extra 4 pins to the side) will convert to vga.
The one you keep linking is able to convert its one DVI-I to vga, you have yet to pose a solution for the 2nd monitor.

Are you just trying to annoy or what?
it's an error. I once found a desktop mobo on pcpartpicker listed as ssi ceb. it's not god. shut up, stop trying to shove it down his throat.
DVI-D AND DVI-I ARE DIGITAL
DVI-I AND DVI-A ARE ANALOG
VGA IS ANALOG
THAT GPU HAS ONE DVI-I AND ONE
DVI-D. DVI DUAL LINK =/= DVI-A
So tell me, where in the image does it show it having "2 DVI-I"?
*trollface*
The real question is... "Will it blend?"
