Your favorite headphone

I love my Audio Technica ATH-AD700s, they're so comfortable it's like my head had nothing on it.  The bass is a bit lacking, but it's punchy rather than boomy, which I prefer.  When I'm out and about I use my Audio Technica CKS77s (or 55s if I can't find cheap ones), I'm not sure if the Solid Bass feature is a gimmick or not, but I can tell you that those things seriously sound good and isolate alot of sound due to the unique design.

Bose QC15 with iPhone control cord.  I have two pair.  One for the house and traveling.   The other for doing work on the tractor while listening to METAL!!! (and blues... and 80's hair band music).  The sound cancelling is awesome and being able to control the music stream without taking the device out of my pocket is a real plus.  Yes, Reach Down by TotD will drown out the Kubota diesel when digging up 2000lb rocks...  heavy.

Audio Technica ATH-M50 because they are comfortable, sound good, and seem to be a pretty solid build. I have some $400 custom headphones with the magnum drivers and I don't use them because I just like the comfort more from the M50s.

Atm I am using Sennheiser HD 558 -headphones, they are very nice but I don't have any experience on 50€+ headphones before these. I also use them via my stereos, I can control trebble, bass and volume more easily that way, I've noticed that with HD 558 on its own does not reach to every detail and sometimes makes the music sound "crowded" a lot of different sounds at the same time and they blend together in an unpleasent manner, but I have the stereos to counter that.

Sennheiser HD 380 Pro.
First set of high-quality headphones I have bought, and I am absolutely in love with them.
Everything sounds amazing.
You just have to tweak the EQ a bit to make it sound its best.

My "main" headphone is the Sennheiser HD800. Although not really made for metal, would love some more fat bass, rather than very controlled. I've got the Audeze LCD-3 on it's way, which is more targeted towards bass.

What do you have driving that? Tube amp?

I hope you're running a turn table, because otherwise, you're wasting your money.

I Love my Beyerdynamic Custom One Pros. I have them running through a FiiO E10.

such bass

much loud

Has anyone tried closed on hear headphones like the Phillips Citiscape? I'm thinking about getting them. I always find that traditional headphones with a hole in the cushion are quite uncomfortable and clamp down on my ears. I currently wear AKG K452, they clamp down  a bit too hard and make my ears instantly hot!

Right now it's ATH-500X for music, and HE-400 for gaming/Netflix. I'm trying out HD 598 as a potential replacement for ATH-500X since it's on sale on Amazon. If I like it, I may just swing for their HD650.

Man I love my California Headphone Company Silverados. Just cushy and make a real nice sound, coloured of course but in a nice way. Super comfortable, I have fallen asleep in them a few times.

EDIT: And just look at them...

Bit of a necro thread but what the hell

Current favorites are the DT 990 Pro 250 ohm. I love the treble on these, although the right ear cup seems to have a bit of static during heavy bass. Might be shopping around for something new.

I was using some HD428s.  I have ATH 500x,s now and they are soo much better by far the most open headphone I have used and it is awesome.

I recommend ATH M50s as well. Get Koss DJ100 Pro pads to increase comfort.

Technically it's a headset but the quality falls into the low-mid headphones range. I use Hyperx Clouds for Death metal listening, the treble is a bit lacking but a little eq tweaking makes them perfect.

edit: these
