So anybody having issues with You Tube in the past week or so in regards to slowness/lag ?
I’ve noticed this both on my Windows 10 and 11 systems.
Seems to be the main page loading slowly a lot and not refreshing the thumbnails in a timely manner etc…
Tonight I even got a dialog box from You Tube stating are you experiencing issues playing back videos and clicked on the link to see the tips and tricks.
The weird part is that other web sites seem to be ok and not having this issue.
Even ran Speedtest.net a few times to confirm there wasn’t any weird issues showing up there, nothing was spotted.
Now of course this could be something going on between Google and Comcast perhaps ?
What I’ve noticed – is that YouTube is now forking off some processes at Low priority, while elevating others to High priority. This is something I’ve not noticed before. By normalizing all of the YouTube/browser priorities – presto. Button clicks immediately respond and Ads can be effectively suppressed. You can make changes to Windows’ registry via regedit to make this normalization automatic. Quick steps:
Under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options:
1 Set new Key for program name [ex. your-browser.exe ]
2 Under above program name key – new key named PerfOptions
3 Under above key new dword named – CpuPriorityClass
4 Modify value of CpuPriorityClass – 32 bit decimal – as follows:
