This is something I have basically forgot about.
While back before I got my thinkpad I used a Y40-70. It wasn’t that bad until some of the keys stopped working.
Q W E R U I O P all stopped functioning. The rest of the machine is fine. I don’t really know if I can fix this, but it would be neat if I could. I was told by someone that this happens all the time with these Y series machines and that relay’s on the motherboard itself are what does this, that they just fizzle out and thats it. Whats weird about it is that I had windows on it, I updated windows, and it when I booted and went to play something the keys were just done.
If I plug a keyboard in it works fine, so its not system wide to all keyboards. Could there have been a bad BIOS update that got piped in? I don’t know. I’m hoping someone here has an idea.
