Hey I have this weird issue that have been happening on a lot of my xubuntu installs. This gray line appears 4/5th the way down the screen and it dosen't go away. Here is a screen shot.
notice that Line its super annoying and I want it to go away.
If you remove the bottom dock, does the line go away?
This looks like the top shadow of a window. Your compositor probably doesn't know that the window is supposed to be transparent - dock's a likely suspect.

It is exactly that. That is probably docky and I had the same issue. I just disabled the shadows for the panels and it was fine.
how do you disable the shadow?
