XFX AMD Radeon HD 6870 or xfx Double D HD 7770 Black Edition?

Hey guys what up?

I picking out the parts for my friends and im somewhat confused on what gpu to give him, im stuck on deciding between the XFX AMD Radeon HD 6870 or the xfx Double D HD 7770 Black Edition.

from what i've seen from a couple benchmarks is that these cards are very similar when it comes to performance.

Which card do you guys think is better?

I have the XFX Radeon HD 6870, pretty good card I should say. Not going to give any judgements between those two cards, though.

I've got a Sapphire 6870 and it's pretty good. I get 80+ FPS on most of my games on very high settings. That's all I can contribute.

If you want to save money go with the 7770 but the 6870 is better at the majority of games. It will cost about $124.99-144.99 depending on which version you go with and will run cooler and use less energy than the 6870. For $219.99 you can get a 2GB version of the 6870 which might help a bit with higher resolutions and for $229.99 you can get a 1GB XFX 7850 which is better than the 6870 while still being a bit more power efficient.
