Hi all, upgrading a pc for a friends brother, he wants the 380x as its the best card for his budget however he only has a corsair CX 500 power supply which if I remember rightly from the last 2 hours of trying to find an answer to this last night, has ~38 A on the 12v rail, all I need to know is will the 380X be able to get enough current from this unit or is a stronger PSU needed.
There isn't much going on in his machine there's an A8 5000 series a HDD and 8 gigs of RAM on 2 DIMMS with some OEM motherboard.
Any answers would be great
Edit : I've had no luck finding out how much current the named card actually requires other than "750W" which is arse covering from XFX
The 380X will require 28-30A. There should be no problems.
