XFM Radeon 6670-6 pin power Connector wont fit!

I was recently given a XFM HD 6670, and they were upgrading and gave it to me for free :)

I knew it needed a 6 pin power connector but when i went to plug it in, the 6 pin didn't fit.

Are there different standards/versions of 6 pin connectors and will i have to upgrade my PSU?

Would it just be cheaper to buy a new PSU and a new cheap GPU e.g GTX 750ti( as some models dont require external power)

Any help would be great

Check to make sure the cable is and actual PCI-E cable. It's easy to confuse with the CPU power. Check your PSU manual or the side of the connector to make sure.
