Xfinity streaming device dead since putting isp modem in bridge mode

My Comcast Internet service came with a streaming device called a ‘Flex’ box. Last week I was having some pretty severe connectivity problems, so I put my Xfinity router/modem in bridge mode and hooked up an old-ish consumer router and presto! my connection become drastically more stable.

The only downside was that the little streaming box Comcast provided stopped working. After I hit the home button it prompted me to reconfigure the box, but then promptly went to a blank screen.

I don’t use it for a whole lot, but was watching Babylon 5 for free and occasionally using it to stream SiriusXM. Any hints on getting it working again, or finding an alternative?

I wish I could help, I use Comcast too but didn’t opt for any streaming device other than using the HD Cable Boxes to stream like Amazon Prime.

Any chance you can reset the modem back to non-bridged mode and test ?

It maybe an issue with the streaming box NOT working with a bridged modem ?

Im not expert on the matter, but doesnt all the extra services cable companies like Comcast provide require their specific modem/router to be fully functional to distribute those services? I think they do normally break in bridge mode.

That sounds familiar.
