i have come across a broken xbox 360 and have decided to rip everything out of it and use the body itself as a case.
the only way i can think of making this a mid range gaming pc is to use an amd apu and some seriously small stuff. I do not have the xbox yet so i dont know the dimensions even though they are probably online somewhere. anyways i neeed some help finding some seriously small parts to build this pc right now i think the biggest problem will be finding a psu that will fit. thank you any help will be appreciated
by the way id like top keep this build somewhere from 350 to 400 usd
I think you might want to go for a mini ITX mobo. An amd A10 will only set you back 130 bucks and a motherboard will cost another 100. 50 bucks for a 500 GB WD Blue and 4 gigs of ram is another 40-50 bucks. A powser supply will probably be mini itx. I found this PSU thats a little bit of an overkill for wattage but it 80+ bronze so thats good. Heres the PSU link that should benifit your search time: Here.
you can get PicoPSUs up to 160w, so as long as you're packing SSDs then you'll be fine on a APU system
but you still need a SSD and maybe a heatsink
you can lowe the CPU and RAM down if it doesn't meet budget, but don't go lower on that 160w PSU
thanks that pico psu will probably save me a ton of space.. im probably gonna go cheaper with the ram and mobo and try to get a decent size ssd in there. Also im probably going to get a after market heatsink because i dont think the standard one will fit
since i wont be getting a video card because it will probably be difficult to find a decent one to fit. I think going apu is a good decision
