Hi, everyone, so I've been strangling to finish my computer, and I finally finished it, but I can't get my xbox 360 controller to work on my computer, yes I know controller on pc? I just can't play mouse and keyboard, I'm one handed and nee the controls near by each other. The thing is I've been trying to figure why it doesn't work, I've installed the drivers over and over again I restarted after installing and uninstalled it and everything, but nothing. It flashes green but that's it. I tried looking for similar people with the same problem as me, but their fixes don't work on mine, so I thought I'd ask if anyone had this problem, or how to how fix it. Thanks you guys.
Do you have the Xbox Wireless Adapter? that is a separate accessory that is required. the controller is NOT bluetooth.
My controller, is wired. I've gotten the drivers from Microsoft, they are the most current they have.
Quite oftine you have to sign the drivers that you download from Microsoft specifically to the device. Thats what I have to do with mine though im using an unofficial wireless receiver.
How would I do that?
Yeah what Rudster said. I don't have the wired one but I know that if I plug the wireless reciever into a different usb port on my PC I have to reinstal the drivers, and that's even harder for the wireless thing becasue they change everytime.
Download the correct driver here
http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/en-nz/d/xbox-360-controller-for-windows
Then go
control panel,
device manager,
find the unknow device,
right click,
update driver software,
Brows my computer,
let me pick from list,
microsoft common controller,
xbox 360 controller
ok.
Done. Lengthy process though its worse as my fellow kiwi said, Wireless is more of a pain.
But I tried that already installing, uninstalling and connecting it on every port. Nothing.
YES!!! Thank you so much! I've have been looking and looking for a solution, thank you so much!
Np
See that is a bit strange to me.
I always just plug in my wired 360 controller and it works. No problems no matter what port. On Windows 7 or 8.1
Glad to hear you got it working!
