so, the problem is very easily explained, but i cant wrap my head around how its possible.
i use XBMC (Kodi since recently) to access my music on my laptop trough samba file sharing.
the laptop runs windows 7, and has no other problems.
the following occurs every time i want to listen to music:
- i open my laptop, it either awakes from sleep, or i turn it on for a cold start (both scenarios do the same)
- i open Kodi (first thing i do, done trough keyboard only, to remove variables)
- i go to my music, which causes Kodi to freeze, unable to be terminated by task manager, requiring a hard shutdown to get rid of
- i power on my laptop
- i open kodi
- it works.
- putting it to sleep or rebooting does not make it break again.
then the next time i want to use it, the issue is back.
my mind is pretty much blown, i've tried everything at this point (list following) and am out of ideas.
things i've tried (and had varying levels of success)
- set kodi to ALWAYS use graphics card over intel intergated
- change my default router (my house has 3, in varying subnets of the network)
- change Kodi install location
- update from XBMC (13) to Kodi (14)
- do other things first
- do it the first thing i do
- leave my laptop running for a while, before opening xbmc/kodi
- probably more i dont remember...
