X99 Build

Hi Guys, just wanted to go over my parts list and perhaps look for some improvements - although I think I'm quite happy with the way it is. Computer will be used for Gaming, Video and Photo editing as well as some 3D Model reconstructions for my job. I'm using a GTX 780 from my current build and plan to go for at least 2 and quite likely 3-way SLI in the future. My primary resolution is 1440p, although I will likely be picking up a 4k IPS Asus panel when they come out later this month.

CPU

Intel 5820k i7

Motherboard

Asus X99-S; my first dilema, is it worth the extra to go for the Pro? Open to other manufacturers too. The X99-S seems fine but there are surprisingly few reviews for it.

PSU

EVGA Supernova G2 1000w - obviously overkill at the moment, but trying to taking into account the SLI setup.

Memory:

G Skill Ripjaws 2666mhz Blue, 4 sticks of 4GB

Cooling:

Corsair H105 with SP 120's with a White LED.

Case:

Fractal Design Define R5 - Black Windowed version.

Would love some feedback on the build!

Those parts look good to me.

Motherboard: The Pro only offers onboard bluetooth and Wifi and 2 more usb 2.0 ports, that are the only main diffrences. if im right.

If you dont need bluetooth or wifi, then i would personaly not invest for the pro.

Ram: The ram´s you have choosed are offcourse great, but they are on the more expensive side, i would personaly grab 2133mhz or 2400mhz kits, Because they are cheaper, The thing about this is, that 2133mhz and 2400mhz are standard supported without overclocking, 2133mhz and 2400mhz are standard loaded profiles inside the bios. Overclocking ram can somethimes be a pain in the ass on X99, And like i said the 2133 or 2400mhz modules are cheaper aswell, ram speeds dont make any sense. so yeah, you could save your self some headaces and cash.

Grtz Angel ☺

+1 to Angel... the RAM is excessive, and the Pro isn't worth the price hike if you don't need wireless on the mobo... the X99-S is basically a X99-DELUXE but cheaper from what I see...

Awesome - thanks guys. Indeed, Wi-Fi is not needed at all. Truth be told Amazon weren't even showing the 2133 and 2400 Mhz options when I looked! 2400 was only £2 more so went with that.

That's everything ordered - can't wait!
