Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Is the EVGA x79 Dark board any good, or are the Sabertooth and Rampage boards just too good to compare? This is for a minor overclocking, intense gaming, and general use board.

For your mentioned needs even a midrange non x79 board will be just fine. A socket 1150 or am3 build with emphasis placed on the gpu is my suggestion.
Only go x79 if you really need heavy cpu grunt, the memory bandwidth of quad channels, and the multiple high speed pcie lanes. Or you just have loads of cash to blow....
So the EVGA Dark is on par with the Rampage. Coolie.
