X570d4U-2L2T possible reset switch issue, anyone else experienced the same?

Hi,

Does anyone else have any issues with the RESET SWITCH? I was in the BIOS just testing a few things and pressed the RESET SWITCH but it didn’t reset at all, it stayed on the BIOS page. I did check the connection of my case’s RESET button pinout was correct, green on the positive and black on the GND.

Is it possible this can be disabled in the BIOS? I checked but didn’t find anything.

Anyone else had the same issue or noticed the same thing? There is a mention in the manual to press the reset switch in case of boot failure so I wonder if it will only work when there is a failure and if that is a safeguard against resets which you wouldn’t want by accident in a server environment?

Hmm, AFAIK, this is supposed to be a hardwired connection between ground and the RST pin on the CPU and would bypass anything you were currently doing on the machine, be it he BIOS screen on a loaded OS.

Also RESET switches are not polorized so it should not matter which way you connect to the front panel header.

Turns out the problem was with the case’s wire, the pins were reversed on the case’s I/O board!!!

Good to know
