Hi,
Just got my X570D4I-2T, a motherboard from asrock for NAS purpose.
the MB has 2 port OCUlink SFF-8611 on board for sas/sata/pci connection.
Without really checking i bought online a case with a backplane for sas/sata 8 drive. The backplane connection seems to a SFF-8087 …
The MB come with an oculink sff-8611 to 4 sata cable.
Does anyone now where to find a cable SFF-8611 to SFF-8087 ? can’t find anything on amazon/newegg or standard online website ?
Many thanks
You board only supports the break out to sata it seems
Guess they just used that connector in order to have 8 sata with small connection, might be able to go to PCIE device but not 100% on that recommend you check your manual
Per manual
Might be able to get it to a pcie slot then put in a AIC
Hi,
yes from the MB docs, seems possible to have extra pci from the occulink port.
So i’m looking for 4 option right now:
find this specific cable to make a try
find and oculink to pci cable and add an AIC with ssf-8087 port
put the AIC on the MB PCI slot , usual/standard configuration
change the case
option 3 and 4 are strait forward and not really fun to test and i was planning to keep my extra PCI slot for a 4xNVME raiser.
Nevertheless, i will spend some time on research for opt 1 and 2 first to see if i can find these rare cable …
if anyone has a hint, welcome to share
thanks
