Do you guys think AMD's gonna release 'X' versions for 360, 370, 380? like in radeon 200 series or 390x?
if yes then should i wait for 380x/370x?
Nope. Cause the price bracket between the X and non X cards wouldn't make any sense. The prices are too close to each other as it is, an X card would make it even worse.
Think of it like this to give you a general idea.
Of course the X cards are theoretical prices
- R7-360 = $119
- R7-360x = $159 (Theoretically)
- R7-370 = $179
- R7-370x = $199 (Theoretically)
- R9-380 = $199 - 4GiB models are around $230 ish
- R9-380x = $289 (Theoretically)
- R9-390 = $329
- R9-390x = $429
- R9-Nano = $479 (Theoretically) [Of course we're going to find out the price in a few weeks
- R9-Fury = $549
- R9 Fury X = $649
the mid range prices and low-end prices are too dangerously close. so it wouldn't make sense for AMD to make X-Cards for the mid range and low-end. Plus AMD doesn't have the R&D and the money to release these cards.
wow thank you so much :) I'm gonna get a 380 on my first build i hope its worth it.
It's a solid card. I'd try to get the 4gb version
I've wondered this myself.
What are they doing with all the fully enabled chips?
Yields on Antigua (Tonga), Trinidad (Pitcairn) and Tobago (Bonaire) must be fantastic at this point.
A few of theories:
They are waiting on nvidia to release the 950ti and 960ti.
There is a long time between now and when 16/14nm chips will be available in quantity, so the XT parts will be available halfway between now and the 4xx series. Christmas perhaps?
Or making some play for mobile with heavily binned chips?
There might be some credence to the rumors that Apple is soaking up all Tonga XT, but that doesn't explain the other two.
I remember hearing somewhere it was confirmed 360x,370x,380x incoming. I'll have to find the source.
