X-fi Titanium Fatal1ty Pro: Looking to buy need in

Hey all.

As the subject states I am in the market for an upgrade from my X-fi Xtreme gamer pci.

I have seen newegg only offer the Titanium Fatal1ty Pro card with this part number 70SB088600002 , which is also available in New Zealand.

But I have also seen it being sold here with this part number also 70SB088600004 .

Does anyone know what difference these 2 part numbers represent. 004 being more expensive than 002.

These are the online retailers I am currently looking at, based on their service with past purchases.

This store has both part numbers listed but I'm not taking the information as accurate:

If anyone could help me out here I would be most grateful.

Cheers.

I just looked up the parts numbers and didn't see a difference between the two models so I am stumped. They are both PCI-e. I didn't see any difference in OP-amps, DAC chips, etc.

If you will be using the soundcard with headphones, you should check out the Titanium HD too. It might be a little more expensive, but the sound is far superior to the Titanium Fatal1ty pro card. The Titanium HD does EAX and 3d positioning through software.

nvm

Yeah thanks Akimbo. I think i'll stick with the fatal1ty pro card for now. I need to keep some money to get a warrant of fitness check done on my car this month. Cars bloody cars.

Definately keen on the Titanium HD I'll probably look at that for my next upgrade though. I just want to get off this Audigy based X-fi I have.

The difference between the 002 and 004 part numbers really boggles me. I have to wonder if it's improved EMI shielding, maybe just a bios update or if Creative have reduced the software that comes with it????

Who knows.

I would look into the Asus Xonar line of sound cards if i were you, what you have picked out is the alienware of sound cards.
