I'm looking to run some reckless Linux experiments on some junk PCs and am trying to hunt down some working Radeon HD 2000 or better 8X AGP cards (not PCIe -- muy importante) to test VDPAU capabilities. Said experiments are intended to lead to a YT vid on the subject.
Ideally, I'd like to get my hands on HD-series cards w/256 MB or greater DDR2 VRAM (Cards w/DDR3 VRAM won't work in the systems I have in hand): HD 2400 Pro, HD 2600 Pro, HD 3450, HD 3650, etc. Best case scenario would be an HD 4650 w/1 GB DDR2. NB: I'd need to know ahead of time if any cards offered have power connectors other than molex or mini-molex, and whether or not adapter cables/pigtails would be included.
My budget max would be $50 (US) total. If you have any of the aforementioned cards in your scrap heap and want to flip 'em for a few bucks, please ping me. If you're in the general Seattle area, a local meetup can be arranged if you're comfortable with it.
If you can confirm it's working and supply brand, RAM size & speed, and power requirements, I can PM you an offer. A pic or two would be good as well. ;-)
Was at RE-PC yesterday. Taylor (the guy who does the testing) has a basket of GPUs beside his station and the last time I dug through it had AGP Radeons. Could be worth asking him.
I can send him a message real quick to let him know to set any aside for you.
Sorry... Missed your post. If you'd be willing to message him, I'd be grateful. Was planning on heading down there Tuesday afternoon anyway, so if any HD-whatevers are available, I can seek him out.
Hadesfriend, please consider me still interested in your card regardless of local recycler possibilities, go ahead and post/PM your card pic at your leisure. I'm heading out now, but will check back in the AM.
