WTB a new monitor. Suggestions?

So right now I have a Dell U2412M 24" 8ms IPS monitor so I'm thinking maybe I'd try a 24" or 27" 1ms 144hz monitor for my FPS games OR the LG IPS Ultra Widescreen for productivity and games that are compatible OR the 27" 1440p monitors out there, however the Canadian dollar right now sucks so buying Korean monitors really doesn't make sense when its only like a $30 difference to buy from north american dealers right now.

Here are some of the monitors I've been looking at:

LG 29UM65-P 29IN Widescreen LED Monitor 21:9 IPS

BenQ XL2411Z 24IN LED 144HZ 1ms GTG FPS/RTS Gaming Monitor

BenQ XL2720Z 27in LED 144HZ 1ms GTG FPS Gaming Monitor

BenQ GW2765HT 27in IPS WQHD Monitor 2560X1440 4MS

I'm totally open to suggestions, pretty much anything under ~$500 CAD

First question; are you from the States, Canada or something outside of Europe?

If that is NOT the case and you live in Europe, I have a very cheap but good alternative for those monitors that are mentioned above.

This one; http://tweakers.net/pricewatch/395406/aoc-g2770pqu-zwart.html

thanks for your reply, however, the monitor you suggested gets beat in every category by the benq xl2720Z according to toms hardware best monitors 2015 review and it's only slightly less expensive in Canada and packs less features. The overlord Tempest seems pretty cool for 1440p overclockable etc. but I'd go Korean if I go that route

I guess what I'm really after is for gaming do people suggest 1440p, 144hz 1080p, IPS etc.
It's also worth mentioning that I have a GTX 970 G1 GAMING card that will be powering it.

Then I'd take a 1080p panel.
Since you NEED to get a 120/144 FPS rate if you want to make good use of the high-hertz rate of the monitor.
