WSE 2012 R2 vs Win10 Pro.... the showdown

I have tried everything I can think of short of a fresh OS install… I can’t get the server to allow me to do anything with one particular computer running Windows 10 Pro. It will “connect”, but everything is N/A and it shows a server icon on the dashboard where the client should be. It won’t let me remote to it/backup/etc…

I fully updated both the server and computer, disabled IPv6, pointed DNS to the server, cleared DNS cache, turned off malwarebytes, turned off defender, turned off firewall, tried the connector from a new user account in case I had some setting screwing it up, deleted the old computers off of Active Directory/Dashboard as well as that one in particular… cough… many times … joined the Domain manually, went back to workgroup, SkipDomainJoin, trying different things… I added a WMI filter and applied it to the GPOs (was going to share it but the forum doesn’t like the code)

What makes it maddening is I have another computer that has Windows 10 Pro working flawlessly with the server that had no trouble at all connecting

I don’t know of and haven’t read of anything else to try… Hopefully it’s something stupid I’m just overlooking, but I don’t even see an error in the connector log?

This is the latest connector log…

… any help is appreciated, thanks

I don't have any W10 workstation on my domain but I'm pretty sure I saw someone post something similar to this a while back and a windows update resolved it. If your workstation is pointed to a WSUS try downloading updates from microsoft and see if that resolves it.

Both the server and clients are fully updated

Try creating a manual DNS entry and renaming the workstation to that.

Edit: You could also look at the logs after a fresh login on the W10 machine to see if it is having binding issues due to DNS. Several of my workstations have binding issues on startup, but bind after logon is successful and creates GPO's and such from there.

I already manually pointed to the DNS to the server and google as an alternative... what would renaming the workstation to the DNS do exactly?

exactly what logs am i looking for startup binding issues?

I had assumed the whole time this was a connector issue
