Hey guys, Im coming to you 'cause I have a problem with my current setup.
Something is causing me pain or discomfort between my wrist and knuckles, possibly a tendon, and i'd like some advice from people who maybe have had the same problem or know people that do.
This is a recent thing, and I believe it has something to do with my keyboard ( I updated to green switches a while back) but i also dont know if its because i dont have a mouse wrist rest either.
Are there things that people have done (home remedies for example) or trials (don't know of a better word) to phase out whether its my mouse or my keyboard? The reason think its my mouse is that because my left hand does not hurt or experience any discomfort at all, yet my right hand does.
At the same time, i dont want to rush out and buy a new mousepad with a wrist rest just for that reason and then have my hand to still hurt. (I only have 140$ available, and i'd prefer not to spend it all as dark souls 2 for PC is around the corner.)
Get a wrist pad and see if that helps. If it doesnt you may consider a different mouse. There are different types of grips. You might wanna check out a grip chart. If i had to guess your claw gripping too small of a mouse. You might be a palmer.
I am indeed a palmer and I am using the Razer Deathadder. But I've never experienced this up until now. It might be the fact that I bought Diablo 3 Recently :^)
It sounds like carpel tunnel. If getting a wristpad does not help, Try limiting your use of PC's as much as possible for a little while, if it does not subside, You may go see a chiropractor. I did after a long time playing guitar, my wrists got horrible. I went to see one and afterwards it was awesome.
You're going to have to rest your hand before you do some serious damage. Sometimes it takes a few days, sometimes longer. I'm not saying that you cannot use your hand, but limit its use.
I have found that certain mice can cause high levels of fatigue. I had to replace my NAOS 7000 because my fingers didn't like to fit that shape for extended periods. Personally, I do find palm gripping to deliver the highest levels of stress in comparison to finger-tip or claw gripping. It's just something to consider.
Carpel tunnel syndrome, it starts in the wrist where you normally rest it while mousing/typing, and it sux bad, like someone is drilling into the joints or sticking needles into your hands, or my favorite, numbness and tingling.
Yes, often there is also a problem with the spine having too much pressure and it affects all the extremities. not always the case, but not uncommon. other than that, they can help joints in any part of the body. I WOULD study the one you want to use VERY thoroughly if they suggest messing with your neck. it CAN help, but it requires more skill than many think they have. other than that, They did great for my hands.
