Would this headset be great for gaming?

So someone on Google chat recommended me this headphone set, and all I can say is that it looks like a great product and whatnot. However, I want to use it for gaming, and I don't fully know what makes a great headset.

This is the headphone: http://www.amazon.com/Audio-Technica-ATHM50S-Professional-Monitor-Headphones/dp/B004ZG9TMA/ref=sr_1_1?s=musical-instruments&ie=UTF8&qid=1356103888&sr=1-1&keywords=B004ZG9TMA

Thanks.

The ATHM50 headphones are among some of the best headphones you can get for the price. For gaming, clarity and audio quality are paramount, so that you can hear the environment around you and make better decisions based on that. As these headphones are of a music studio quality they would make a perfect set of gaming headphones. If you would like more clarification please look at the youtube video's below.

I would recommend the Logitech G35 Gaming Headset for gaming. They are also on sale right now, I have had them for over 6 months now http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-7-1-Channel-Surround-Sound-Headset/dp/B001O5CCQK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1362274418&sr=8-1&keywords=logitech+g35

I would recommend ATH-AD700's these are honestly the best headphones for gaming, out of any high quality headphones they have the best precision, and amazing directional sound. In all honesty these are the best headphones I have ever used for gaming and would really be my recommendation, They have incredible sound stage which also helps for directional and etc that will help when playing games, The one issue with them is that they don't have much bass, but you can solve most of that issue with a properly set up equalizer.
