Would This Be A good Upgrade for a Gaming/Streaming/Editing Computer?

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/rFdnyc

My current PC is the same except for the parts that are not marked as purchased. My Original Motherboard and CPU an Asus Z87-K and an i5 4570 and my main points for this upgrade would be to overclock, and get better performance while editing in Adobe CS6 streaming, and gaming with it being where I can afford not to upgrade for a while

That build is really unbalanced. Way too much CPU power, too little GPU power and not enough RAM.

The 4570 is a good CPU. Even though it can't overclock it is quite fast. If you want an upgrade and to overclock than a 4770k or 4790k may be the best option. At stock speeds it won't be much faster in game and a little bit faster in editing and streaming but if you overclock it will be quite a bit faster. That being said the 4770k/4790k is quite Expensive. A 4670k/4690k would be a good CPU for overclocking although at stock speeds it will be the same speed as the CPU you have. TBH i'd say not worry about the CPU. The 4570 is pretty good.

That all being said, you should also consider the Xeon 1230 V3. It can't overclock but it is essentially an i7-4770 without the iGPU. It will be very fast in gaming and video editing and is much cheaper than the 4770k. (Around $230). I have one and it is great.

Ditch the H80. At that price range a high end Noctua will be  a little cheaper and will perform about the same or a bit better. If you want to go water cooling get an H100 or Kraken X60. Those will perform better than air but are significantly more expensive (~$130 for the Kraken X61).

Keep your motherboard it is very good.

Get more RAM. 16GB is what you want for video editing.

Get an SSD too. That will make the system feel snappier. The Crucial M500 and Samsung 840 Evo are very good.

Get a new GPU. That will really help in game and with streaming and can also accelerate video editing. Really I would recommend an AMD card because they beat nVidia at every price point except the ultra high end (780 Ti as AMD doesn't make a card that expensive). However, nVidia has CUDA which can help in Premier. You can also use an AMD card and OpenCL but it will be a tiny bit slower. Personally I'd go AMD. An R9 280X or R9 290 would be perfect.

I have aboslutely no reason to upgrade my gpu as it does its job flawlessly right now. it is my cpu which i would like to not change out for a while is why i picked the 4930k

It doesn't though. Streaming performance would be improved by a faster GPU running the game faster to begin with. The 4570 isn't a bad CPU in the slightest.

If you do want to upgrade then get a 4770k. You'll be able to keep your motherboard and it will easily be powerful enough for 4-5 more years. Your GPU is your limiting factor here.

I could probably swing getting a 770 or 280x with my budget minus the sabertooth and getting a 212 evo instead of an h80i

I totally agree with derkrieger, you seriously need more  ram and a better gpu,650ti does not use vram efficiently because of low memory bandwidth, you can invest in a good card.gtx 760 is a good card to begin with.your cpu is sufficiently powerfull if you want more speed go and buy an ssd, you won't believe your pc could be that fast.

I've been asking if it would be a good upgrade for what it would be intended for, not what other people would do in my situation, because with what I do I could really use the 4930k's potential, and I plan on upgrading GPU down the road it would just help having this now

How about this

Your budget which includes the 6 core, the Sabertooth and H80 is around $950.

Get this:

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/6wYcGX

$960.

For that you get:

an i7-4770k

Noctua NH-U14S

16GB of RAM

120GB SSD

R9 290

That will completely change your system and boost your performance to crazy levels and will allow you to OC. Really though you don't even need the CPU or cooler...

It wouldn't be a good upgrade. It is unbalanced as hell and way too expensive for what you get.

Trust me, unless you are a crazy content creator running an insane amount of HDDs and three or four GPUs then yes you will be using the 4930k to its fullest potential. Otherwise you don't need it.

By doing the upgrade you have you will see maybe a two to 5 FPS increase in gaming and streaming and maybe 20% faster rendering times.

With my upgrade you'll be seeing a 35-40FPS increase in gaming and 25-35FPS increase in streaming. 15% faster rendering times. much faster start up times and overall a faster system especially in editing with the extra RAM.

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/YrG3gs Little variation but pretty much the same thing.

Reasons to get either of these build. A 4930k is pretty beastly. But its definitely not the wisest use of these funds. If rendering is your big selling point of the 4930k then your a little miss led. Graphics cards are bigger work horse in rendering. Going to a 4930k with your 650 ti boost is going to be faster then the I5 and the ti. But, with how rendering is, getting the 4770k and a R9 290 will produce much better results. The opencl performance of the 290 will make rendering a breeze. The 4770k is more then sufficient for any rendering or streaming needs. It will be very fast in rendering or streaming due to its hyperthreading. Sure its not as fast as the 4930k, but the 4930k paired with a gtx 650 ti boost vs a 4770k and a R9 290 is a landslide victory in the 4770k's corner.

Agree with everything you said here but I am quite perplexed by the changes you made.

The H80i and the Noctua are about the same cooling wise. Difference of maybe a few degrees. The Noctua is cheaper, vastly quieter and runs no risk of leaking and frying everything.

The Corsair RAM is more expensive. RAM is RAM. Just a fact. You go with the cheapest.

The MX100 is significantly slower than the 840 Evo in every area except sequential read speeds. The 840 Evo is a much better drive.

The R9 290 you recommended has a slower clock speed and is more expensive...

I went with the H80i as it was used in his original build and I know some people really like the water cooling aspect :/

Um the corsair ram is cheaper... Both 1600mhz cas 9 and the corsair is $5 cheaper...

The drive was something I went with for the reason of that the difference is there, but I don't think it would be noticeable in anything but maybe write speeds but thats not that big of a deal for $17 less.

The 290 I recommended is better because I just feel the double d cooler is as effective, and slightly quieter. I'm not the most impressed as a Gtx 770 gigabyte windforce user due to the noise it can produce. I tend to not recommend them for that reason and for $10 I thought the double d was worth it.

Ahh okay for the WC.

WUT. The PNY is $10 cheaper. http://pcpartpicker.com/part/corsair-memory-cmy16gx3m2a1600c9r

http://pcpartpicker.com/part/pny-memory-md16384kd31600x9 144 vs 134

It wouldn't be completely noticeable but it is a fairly big drop especially on sequential writes. The 840 Evo is a better drive and worth the extra cost.

Alright then I haven't had any first hand experience with the DD only Windforce and for me it is acceptable. So if you say it is better then I believe ya :)

Sorry about the ram. Pcpartpicker is only showing me the bestbuy price so it shows as $149.99 instead of $134.99. If i go in and view the ram then it shows as $134.99 but not in the actual build thing. Maybe I'm just picky about noise with the gfx card lol. Really not the biggest difference but I just get the feeling that the XFX is better quality.
