Is it possible to mount a 24" monitor (Asus VG248H) onto a mini-itx case or vice versa? My initial idea was to get a CM Elite 120, get a VESA mount, and drill it into the top of the case, so the front panel would be facing you with the monitor. I know there are some older cases that do this, but I thought I should come here because parts have changed since then. If anyone is curious, here are the specs:
i5-3570k
ASUS P8Z77-I Deluxe
Gigabyte GTX 670
G.Skill Ripjaws X 16GB
Crucial M4 128GB
Seagate Barracuda 2TB
Hyper 212 EVO (subject to change if needed, 120mm WC kit?)
SeaSonic 650W ATX12V/EPS12V
Generic Lite-On iHAS Optical drive
you might need to drill some holes in the case but yeah its possible, It might work a bit better if you used a smaller case and components
A CM Elite 120 is pretty much the smallest you can get for a mini-itx case with somewhat decent cooling and space. What would you say is an alternative?
this has a proper vesa mount but doesnt really allow room for your gpu, or hdd, still a cool little case though, and not that difficult to build in

I was thinking something slimer and longer like this, but now I look its also a lot more expensive

Check out the node 304 from fractal design. I like the design, so classy! But I am biased because I have the case myself :p
