My friend has a 53 inch Tv. IS there a way to play games on it without using the whole screen cause the FPS would suck. also is there a way to make it so instead of using the whole screen as a desktop can you only use like a corner of it that would be say the size of 24 inch moniter? as in the rest is just black unused space?
if the tv has PIP (picture in picture) he could use that
would the fps suck, i mean whats the resolution. i thought tvs didnt really go past 1080p
yeah, that's something i was wondering too, cause every tv's i've used was for videos only because the FPS sucked big sack, their not made for gaming
it doesnt matter how big the tv. U can always still run the games at a much lower res like 1680x1050
lol all the tv's i've use maxed out at like 1024x768 give or take a size
(this was before HDTV's were out(popular), so i have no idea for HDTV's)
ya im kinda curious on this one since like 24inch computer monitors run 1080p (1920x1080) which is the same resolution as pretty much any hdtv, 40inch 50inch they are all pretty much 1920x1080. so are the fps really worse? (never tried hooking up to my tv)
yeah i'm curious too, cause i'm running at 1920x1200
SD TV's always are 1024x768
and HDTV's are 1920x1080
If you can run your games at 1920x1080, then it doesn't matter how big your HDTV is. But as Evo_Spec said, HDTV's are only good for size, monitors are better for detail.
thank you for the answers, Well
im sure once me and my friend get our SLI setup ready we will be bale to get some pretty good frams on his TV
I would rather not have a blurry screen to look at, I got my ps3 hooked up to my old CRT tv and its got youtube up, it hurts ;_; with its 50hurts and hurts and hurts
PAIN!!!
Its why I would just get a 24 inch widescreen instead of having a HDTV =/, I like the Dell 2408WFP :D, but I can't find out on the site what revision it is :(
I used the Dell 2407 today and well.....
Its pregnant, yes, it happened over nine thousand times, I know the rooms a mess and we forgot to tip the waiter that damn son of a.... oh wait >_>
*runs away*
PS: if you wanted big screen size, the Dell 3008WFP would be good to like, visit someones house and take it while there not looking O _o, send pictures of it from all around the world :D
a 24" monitor have higher resolution than a 54".
it was like, five times bigger than I expected and since I'm still waiting for a new PC :D
my frames per second in game was about 1 :)
I think if you can run games smoothly on a 20+ inch monitor at 1920x1200, you can run them on a 50+ inch standard TV at 1024x768. The reason is because even though it's a much smaller screen, the monitor is running nearly three times the pixels of the big screen. Now, if you go from your 20+ inch monitor at 1920x1200 to an HDTV at 1080p(1920x1080) and the size is 40+ inches, then it would probably cut your frames in half because even though it's running at a lower res, of course, it's having to space them out across a board that's twice as large. However, as 21DD23 said, most HDTV's have options where you can set it to a lower res, just like you can your monitor, so you could theoretically get your games to work on a big HDTV with reasonable frames at 1360x768 - 1680x1050.
the fps doesnt suck, i played my ps3 at my dads house and he has a 52 inch samsung, but if the game doesnt support high resolutions, then the graphics get lowered a bit.
