I was at Gamecom in Germany this Year and won a EVGA GTX760 SC 2GB at the Microsoft booth. And now I don't know If it will make much sense to use it or to sell it.
My setup right now:
Sabertooth P67 EVGA GTX 580 3GB PSU 850W Gold be quiet (the rest is irrelevat I guess)
Since I don't wanna spend any money on a new Motherboard I guess I'll only have the PCI 2.0 ports for a 3.0 ready card. Now to my question should I sell the 760 or put it in my rig (and sell the 580)?
I hope you guys can help me with this :) Thank you in advance!
PCI-e 2.0 isn't even maxed with that card. The only cards that can max out PCI-e 2.0 right now are when using multiple graphics cards in SLi or Crossfire. Chuck it in your system, load up the drivers, fire away.
What kind of monitor are you using? If you are using a 2560x1440 or 2560x1600 you will get a memory benefit from the 760. Do you use anisotropic filtering? The 760 does that better than the 580. Do you use anti-aliasing on a lot of games? The 580 does that better. Here is a web site I found that goes into more detail on these. http://www.hwcompare.com/14829/geforce-gtx-580-vs-geforce-gtx-760/ In my personal opinon I would keep the 580 in that system and SAVE the 760 for a new one. They are both good cards unless you need the cash keep them both you can't go wrong ether way.
P.S The 760 does not saturate the pci-e 2.0 slot so don't worry about that to much.
