Has anybody yet played through the game? I'm curious about how long the game really is because I only play games that are very long and have a gripping story. Thanks
I haven't played it but from what I know you get more than a hundred hours out of it if you do sidequests, more than 200 hours if you want to 100% it and probably 60+ hours if you focus on the story. Also, keep in mind that there are more than a dozen pieces of free DLC that will be released over the next few months.
Thanks, but that's the info we got from the developer afaik and I'd prefer to here this confirmed from some real gamers.
Actually the developers did say that the best speed run (as fast as they could without cutscences and without any side quest) their testers managed to do for the main story was 22 hours.
i'm 36h in the game, and i think i'm pretty much at the end of the story. (didn't do much of side quest, but then i did few; it states 23% completion of whole game)
The game exp changes so much after making choices even on the beginning of the game emulating witcher 2 saves... can change whole story or at least i felt like it. so i'd say 65+- hours to enjoy it fully maybe 100h.
I'm at 21 hours in and I've barely progressed the main quest so far. Still in Valens....there are so many fucking side quests and shit to discover that I don't think I'll be done with this area for a good amount of hours still.
Damn... I have some catching up to do. I just don't have the time I used to, this game may take me a few months to complete.
Nice, are the side quests interesting or of the usual go-there-kill-that variant?
They definitely have a good amount of substance...a lot more than most RPGs out there.
It's far and away from the god awful MMO quests in Dragon Age: Inquisition.
Usually, they start of pretty straight forward but will end up developing into something more-- you'll end up having to make tough moral decisions, etc. If you've played previous Witcher games you'll understand what I mean by this.
You don't really ever get straight up go there kill that quests aside from the Witcher Contracts...which are...contracts..to kill tough monsters...like a Witcher should be doing ;)
Of course, good point :D thx
I've been playing for 19h so far; I am in Valen I recently went to Novigrad, you can walk there from Valen.
There is so many side quest in that place that my quest list takes quite a bit to scroll through. even with all those quests I still have not found one to be flat out uninteresting. So far I am very happy with the game.
