How does one even get this update? I didn't see it in my list of scheduled updates.
It was sitting in my update notifications? I think they have some kind of tiered release method from what i understand. It was something like 900 mb. So its still downloading.:) I unistalled start is back real quick. Just on the offhand chance.
it doesnt have the start menu :/ that ticked me off the most. Microsoft Trolled us once again.

i do like that everything is more clean and minimalistic with the extra features, except even after all the updates it still hasn't made me use the start screen. i have all 20 of my daily drivers pinned to the task bar.
Still waiting on the download to finish.I had almost forgotten about it. Plus the fact they usually break something i am using on my system. Actually grown to like some of the basic functions of the start screen but app store is really screwed up. Its actually worst than when it was first released.
yeah its terrible. the only thing i've ever downloaded was Adobe Reader So i can read my .PDF Manga files on my 8 inch windows tablet other than that i see it the most useless store i've ever seen. plus it was free and i don't trust microsoft with my debit card information ever since I used to gamed on Xbox. Microsoft wouldn't remove my debit card/credit card information from their servers.
Speaking of the devil it pinned the app store app to my task bar. Thanks Microsoft i now have to hide it again. LOL I got to go make sure ie is locked down. It changed the visual style some.

Well it booted, i imagine it will take alittle while to run though all my stuff.
i removed it from my taskbar. like i'm ever going to use that junk. they need to bring the start menu or my taskbar will forever continue to look like this
Well i greatly approve of them pinning running metro apps to the taskbar and they added a power button to metro but why not the desktop? Hurry up on the start menu.
The x _ in metro is nice also. I must be sick?? It didnt break my wifi or my bluetooth.
I just finished install as well. Worked without a hitch. I like some of the new features but until I try the new start menu I'm sticking with StartIsBack.
So we can run modern apps on the desktop? How? All I get is a full screen view or minimized.
Not sure about that. I think something like that in the works. Think its more about you can see what is running because they pinned it to your task bar

Update looks minimal, and much friendlier to keyboard and mouse users. But I still don't care much for the Start menu. Let's see if the next update will be released by the 1st year anniversary of 8.1.
