My neighbors don't seem to care for my music today.
I am looking to purchase a wireless headset with a budget of up to $300. Multipurpose for music, YouTube, and gaming.
My search criteria:
Longer Range. I live in a 1 bedroom apartment. I would like to be able to continue listening while in the kitchen as well as in the bedroom. My battle station is in the bay window. [[Floorplan]]
Larger, over the ear design. I find them much more comfortable for my ears as I wear glasses and have piercings.
Microphone is optional. I found this on another thread here.
$300 is the upper end of my budget, but if it can be avoided that is always a plus. Though I am not opposed to a solid investment such as this provided it comes along with a quality warranty.
I know the Astro A40 is highly recommended, so I was looking at the Astro A50. However, I have never purchased a wireless headset before and would appreciate any insight you may provide.
Thank you for your response. I did look at the Logitech G930 as well. While I have enjoyed my previous Logitech purchases (G15, G500, G500 predecessor), these look a little on the cheaply made side. Particularly, the material the ear cushions are made out of. I will undoubtedly have these on for extended periods of time and the "ear-sweat" review has me a little worried as well as the unreliable battery life and drops.
I should note that durability is always a concern. I owned a few pairs of these Plantronics Gamecon 777 which continued to break in the same location. I believe I owned 3 until the 780 was released. But those have found a home in my cubicle at work and will not reach from my PC to the kitchen. =(
Logitech g930 should be perfect for you. I've had a few hiccups, but after my RMA, it's working perfectly. the RMA wasn't bad either. freak internal hardware problem.
drops, i've had ZERO problems with. i've had zero physical breakage in a year. in my house, the reach throughout the house, and even to a few areas outside. ear sweat is not a huge issue that often. battery life is actually reasonably good. only have to charge mine maybe once a day
I did end up purchasing the G930s. Today is the first time I have had any sort of time with them (no gaming). Thus far I am very pleased. Comfortable and quality sound ("good enough" for me).
