My vote goes to Intel's adapters, I have 2 of them (7260 ac version and an Ultimate N 633anhmw). They are a little bit pricey compared to others but they work extremely well.
Almost any half decent wireless adapter will work. I have a TP-Link TL-WN722N which is pretty cheap, and works pretty well.

At that price, I think you should be looking to find some wireless adapters that also have a/ac capability.
The linksys adapter seems a bit pricy for Wireless N, even though it is dual band. I think there is a newer model of the same one from Linksys. AE2500 and AE3000. Check them out and check prices too.
TP Link have a few different models. The one I have is N300, but is only single band (2.4Ghz) even though it is Wireless N. It's ok (and not pricey), but I should have opted for the N600 (has both bands 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz at 300Mbps each) as we have a lot of wireless devices at home and I like to dedicate the 5Ghz band just for streaming video/music. It still works very well and I can stream video fine from my laptop to the rest of my network at that rate.

Don't know if you're into Linux but people say this works really good in Windows and Linux. Alfa Networks AWUSO36NHA
Thanks Guys!
