Wireless ac pfsense machine?

Hey guys, im about to build a pfsence box.

My question: is there a wireless ac access point (not router) that i can use with it, or what other device can i use for getting a wireless ac connection to my devices.

You will likely not be able to put an AC card in the pfSense machine itself. What I would suggest is to purchase an AC access point from Ubiquiti Networks. I have no personal experience with the AC ones, but I have one of their N models and its great. Linus did a review on the AC model. Bear in mind you'll need a gigabit network card in pfsense to get those kind of speeds over your LAN, but its definitely possible. You'll also need a gigabit switch, and a PC to run the Ubiquiti Unifi software on. The software is accessed via a web browser, and runs on Mac, Linux, and Windows. If you need any other help I can try to help, but I can't really say how well the AC version works since I don't own one. I do know my N version is AMAZING, and Linus swears by his AC models. I would watch his video on them if I were you

You'll have to use an AP as pfsense doesn't support ac cards. Any AC AP or router can be used, you just plug it on to your lan and it works, you don't have to do anything with pfsense to use an AP.

I have one of the unifi ac access points and it's pretty awesome. Definitely worth the $300 or whatever it is. They don't have the best range or speed but the reliability is rock solid. But like I said you can use any AP or router to add wifi to your network.
