Windows Vista, your experience so far

Vista has been out for a while, most PC's come with this installed and gamers see it as the optimal OS for high end gaming. Do you think your windows vista experience has been for the better or for the worse? Do you love it more than any OS? Or is it just another POS operating system you could do without?

Never had a problem with Vista, expect maybe a few games, but its only me having them. non of my freinds do. so i like vista overall

My experience with Vista was good, never had any major problems i would complain about.

Love it, never had any probs.

When i used Vista for the most part it was good to me. The installing Updates was a little bit annoying because a lot of the times, you would have to install them twice etc. Also in games like CSS (I have wireless internet) I would get lag when it searches for new networks. If you are going to use wireless internet with games like css, i recommend you view this ( http://www.hardforum.com/showpost.php?p=1033529723&postcount=1 ) Other than that it was pretty cool, i liked Aero and what not but i am back on XP Pro until windows 7 and probably until SP 1 for windows 7 comes out.

If you weren't a gamer and you were trying to get some work done with specific software, you had raw hatred towards vista, I mean RAW, you wanted to toss your comp from a helicopter with no para-shoot. Not to mention the 10,000% noticeable slowness.

I removed win vista from a ton of computers ($$)Â Â Â ...on some unknown date I installed vista for personal use, not sure exactly why I even bothered to do it, I think I wanted to see a leaf grow in DX10 or something...

I put in the Windows Vista CD...
I installed a program & rebooted...
It booted up screen turned black, waited a while, restarted it...
Booted and turned black, walked away for 30 minutes, came back restart...
Put in Windows XP CD -the end

I'm using windows 7 now and I'm feeling it, I completely skipped Vista, if you wanna know my main reason for avoiding it, install windows ME and use it for 4 years-

roflmao thats classic, i had ME for 2 of those 4 and i honestly have no idea how you survived... I installed vista on a aged machine when it first came out off a freaking external dvd burner and people were upgrading just to have it, i must admit ya it didnt "look" pretty like all the new systems, since i didnt have the graphics to support it, but it ran pretty good on a single core 2.4ghz with 1.5gb of ram.. I couldnt multitask thats for sure but i could play music in wmp and have a word document open and surf on firefox while kaspersky ran in the background with azureus. So it treated me good i just had to move back to xp dual booting ubuntu 9.04 because its simply better to me, inless win 7 proves me wrong!!! we shall see...

besides some driver conflicts with my printer vista has been ok for me , it does slow down from time to time but it's not too bad
now i installed 7 RC and i can say it's way better than vista and also a little faster.

no probs so far :)

I never had a large problem with Vista, always a few small ones. Sometimes I wish it would react a bit faster etc, but next to that everything has been fine. Running it for a year on a RAID config.

I have never had a problem with vista i tried windows 7 and its ok as well, people just have to force themselves to get use to a new OS

I didn't like Vista, I completely skipped it and now I use Windows 7.

Glad there has been no vista bashing hahah i have Vista ultimate 64 bit and its all good only a few minor issues but nothing massive
