It's been a while since I have visited the forums, so i thought I would come back with a question. I need help picking out a new phone? With the company I'm with i have the choice between an iPhone 4s or the Nokia Lumia 925. I know both are not really favored on the forums here, but these are my 2 choices(Well I could also get a Xperia SP). So I was wondering what the people on the forums would consider the better of the 2 phones? I believe the 925 is newer and has better specs, but has Windows 8 OS.... And the iPhone 4s is older, but comes with iOS 7(which even though made by Apple is pretty darn good compared to the others). Thanks for the help!
Yeah, I heard the Windows OS was bad, but that the Windows 8.1 update was suppose to make a lot of things better. Also they plan on adding a lot of new apps to their store this year.
I'd go with either the 4s or try and ask if you can pay the difference between the xperia and a higher end phone.
My dad owns a windows phone and it is pretty dreadful in terms of functionality and app availability. Even WP 8.1 is just crap. At least with the 4s you'll have apps, including google services.
What do you use your phone for? they both have a 8 megapixel camera so that's a non issue. I prefer the build of the Nokia in terms of durability, so are you rough on your devices go Nokia. The iPhone will have way more apps so if that's what you want go iPhone. However the iPhone is 4G and the Nokia is LTE so if you do more browsing I would chose the Nokia for internet speed (If your area supports LTE). Me I would chose a different carrier cause I am an app junky and need my LTE. Good luck on your decision.
Thanks everyone, it looks like the winner is the 4s. I know I get 4G LTE, so the windows phone is tempting due to LTE, but as I have seen so far, everyone seems to hate the Windows 8 OS. I also use a lot of Google services, but Microsoft Office and having fast internet would be really useful useful.
I'm still stuck on win7.8.I won't say i hate it,but it's not that great. Developers have not supported it as much as i would have liked. But I can live through it.I just need a few core apps which thankfully are available on the WP store.
I shy away from the iphone as it feels more like a status symbol rather than anything.
Yeah i just don't support Apple as a company considering their ethics with business and how they treat their customers. But those are my 2 choices, I could pay extra and get a Nexus 5, which I might end up doing. A lot of my friends have iPhones as well.
I don't need bleeding edge phones. If i had my way,i'd rather stick with my old Nokia E72.That's all i still need in a phone.
I've heard good things of the Nexus 5,chief of which is the bloatware is kept to a minimum. I might end up getting the Nexus 5 when my contract permits me to do so,but i love the camera on the 925.The low-light sensitivity is rather remarkable for a phone camera.
Here's the problem, Windows may be "adding" more applications, but why deal with having so few apps when you can access the entire App Store from the already solid Apple ecosystem. I would go with the 4S.
I actually just decided to give the extra cash and get a Nexus 5, that way, i can stay in the land of Android and keep Apple getting of my money. Granted I won't have any of the swanky stuff iOS 7 is shuffling out, but I have heard many good things about the Nexus products. And I believe Google will be shuttling out Android OS directly so I get direct updates to my phone, etc. And I'm sure anything Apple has in it's line of Apps, there is some alternative(better or worse) in the android market place. Thanks for all the help everyone. My other choice was going to be the iPhone though.
I can't make you choose but what are you planning to use the phone for? Remember specs don't always matter it's the experience that matters. Are you going to use the phone for apps. Try to think that the Windows phone is not bad everyday the app selection keeps on growing just how android began. Each phone has it's pros and cons.
