Windows Keys (Provided by WinWorldPC.com) (NOT Wares)

These are keys made available by winworldpc.com.

From the site: "WinWorld is an online museum dedicated to the preservation and sharing of vintage, abandoned, and pre-release software, as well as any and all knowledge associated with such works. We offer information, media and downloads for a wide variety of computers and operating systems. Our collection includes abandonware operating systems (like Windows 3.1 or 95), beta operating systems (like Chicago, Whistler, and Longhorn), abandonware applications (like AfterDark, the epic screensaver software we all grew up with) and more."

"Friendly Reminder NO! No Windows XP!
Microsoft has asserted their copyright status regarding Windows XP. WinWorld respects this and therefore will not host Windows XP. Microsoft still supports various incarnations of this software, and its availability competes with newer Windows product sales. Windows XP is not rare or in danger of disappearing, and therefore has no real place on WinWorld anyway. Anyone who can not comprehend this and requests Windows XP or later will be immediately banned."

This site is my main resource for old OS's that I don't have on disc already. If a disk dies then I DL an image and burn it. They are allowed to do this as well which is really cool.

When you run Windows up to 8.1 in a virtual environment, like it's supposed to be used if it even has to be used at all, you don't even need a key, you just cancel the registration screen and it will work just the same without limitations. It's not legal though, you have to have a key to use it. It's not because you can that you should...

Bouncing off what Zoltan wrote, I know in W7 and W8.1 you can open up CMD (as admin) and run
slmgr -rearm to reset the "trial" period for 30 days. If do that you can essentially run full fledged Windows as a "trial" for months. It stops working after a specified number of resets, but I believe it's possible to reset the reset counter in the registry.
