Windows GPU passthrough stopped working

I’ve had a successful working windows VM with a Nvidia 1080 passed through for several months now. But today, I’m not getting any display on the monitor. I know the GPU works because I get a display on it when booting directly to windows.

I did add more RAM to my PC yesterday and deleted a swap space partition, but how would that have any effect? Is there some recent windows update that’s causing problems? When passing my peripherals to the VM, the numlock and scroll lock lights keep flickering, so is it a bootup problem in windows?

I run Fedora 28 on an AMD WX3100, and passthrough a GTX1080 to Windows 10. CPU is Ryzen 7 1700X

New Insight:
After adding a QXL video to the VM, I can see it’s stuck in a boot loop where it says “Preparing Automatic Repair” next to the bios splash. Followed by reboot

So now in the QXL window, I’m getting a grub prompt. The NVME hard drive I’m passing to my VM has an EFI partition, and I think it got corrupted, so it no longer points to windows further down the hard drive.

After mounting this EFI partition and inspecting, I’ve found that /boot/EFI/Boot/bootx64.efi is a bit-for-bit match to /boot/EFI/ubuntu/shimx64.efi. So how do I repair this file so it boots to windows instead?
