I am looking into getting Windows 8 Enterprise, and I was wondering if it is possible to move the taskbar to the top or sides of the screen like Windows 7. Simple question. Also, does upgrading from Win7 to Win8 erase all of the currently installed programs? I've heard romors that it not only keeps your files but also keeps your programs installed from Windows 7, so I'm not sure what to believe.
Yes, you can move taskbar to top, bottom or sides.
Upgrading does not erase, it simply install new OS, its similar if you have something installed on your external hard-drive and you plug it in, at work or something, the software might work, but then again it might not.
The actual data remains, but the programs might now work properly, user settings and stuff is usually lost in the old Windows 7 registry somewhere, or Appdata folder.
Alright, thanks for the help. When I upgraded to Win7, it did not erase the data like you said it wouldn't, but none of the programs were installed, but were just in the "Windows-old" folder. So I guess that's what happens with Win8, as well.
